ATTENTION: This section contains SPOILERS of the manga Chobits and Kobato.

CLAMP is known to make crossovers between their works. Here's a list of the crossovers found so far in Kobato. Based on those, we can conclude that the story takes place in the same universe of Card Captor Sakura, XXXHOLiC, Gouhou Drug and 'Suki. Dakara Suki'.

Characters of Chobits and ANGELIC LAYER also appear as parallel, alternative versions of the original characters.

Where can be seen: Vol. 1, Chapter 3 (Exam. 3 in the magazine), for the first time, and throughout the rest of the series.

The Landlady of the apartment complex where Kobato lives, Chitose Mihara, is also a character from another CLAMP manga, Chobits. She was the Landlady of the apartment complex where the character Hideki lived.

However, they aren't exactly the same characters. Chitose from Chobits had lost her husband and on top of that, she couldn't and never had any babies, while in Kobato., she's married and has two twin daughters, Chiho and Chise.

Chiho and Chise have the exact same appearance of the persocons Freya and Elda (also known as Chii) from Chobits, the only thing missing is the "ears" that every persocon has. Chiho and Chise are really human beings, which means that, again, they are not the same characters.

The surname Mihara comes from Ichiro Mihara (also known as Icchan Mihara). He's a character of the manga ANGELIC LAYER and furthermore, Chobits (appearing only in flashbacks since he had died). In Kobato, he is Chitose's husband and father of the twins. However, he has yet to appear in the series, but it's a certain thing that he's alive, differently than in Chobits.

It has been officialy confirmed that the universe of ANGELIC LAYER and Chobits are the same, and we can see that both stories take place in an advanced, high-tech future, which doesn't seem to be the case for Kobato.

Since CLAMP shows it everytime in Tsubasa, for now we can only suppose that this "world" of Kobato. is different than the world of Chobits and ANGELIC LAYER.

Where can be seen: Vol. 1, Chapter 10 (Chapter 1 in the magazine), for the first time, and throughout the rest of the series.

The apartment complex that we see in Kobato. is very famous among the CLAMP works. Series like Chobits, Tsubasa, XXXHOLiC and the one-shot Murikuri have also featured the very same building.

The famous of all of them is the one from Chobits, where the apartment is the scenario for the story at many times, and Chitose is again the landlady.

In Tsubasa, Syaoran and his friends land at the Hanshin world inside one of the apartments, and we can see from the outside view that it has the same architeture. The managers were, this time, Arashi and Sorata.

As for XXXHOLiC, we could only see it once in a flashback story about Kimihiro Watanuki's past. He lost his parents when he was really young, so the managers of the complex adopted him and since then he's been living there. We still don't have any confirmation of who are the managers, but it could well be again Chitose and Icchan.

Watanuki describes them as being really kind and nice people, and Yuuko said to him (in the first XXXHOLiC chapter) that everybody at his home had different surnames, so maybe at that time Chitose and Icchan weren't married yet, so Chitose would still have "Hibiya" as her surname. But for the moment this is only speculation.

The Piffle brand is a ficticious brand that CLAMP created to use freely in their works. The brand has appeared in many of them such as: X, Card Captor Sakura, ANGELIC LAYER, 'Suki. Dakara Suki', Gouhou Drug, Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC, to name a few.

In ANGELIC LAYER, it was the toy's company behind the Angelic Layer phenomenon, with Icchan Mihara as president. In Tsubasa, it's the name of a very powerful company where Tomoyo is the president and is also the name of the world where they live, the "Piffle World".

The brand is majorly used to stamp clothes, accessories, gadgets, objects, among other materials. In Kobato., Fujimoto takes his part-time job delivering pizzas for "Piffle Pizza".

The Chiroru bakery, where Kobato worked part time during Christmas, originally appeared in Chobits, along with its manager and his assistant. In Chobits, the manager attended by the name of Hiroyasu Ueda and his assistant was Yumi Omura. Although their names are yet to be revealed in Kobato., they probably have the same names as their respective alternative versions.

In Chobits, Yumi started working at Chiroru and later developed a love affair with Ueda.

The old lady fortune teller that Kobato met at New Year's originally appeared in XXXHOLiC. Unlike the case of Chobits and ANGELIC LAYER characters, she seems to be the same character that showed up in XXXHOLiC, meaning Kobato.'s story takes place in the same universe.

In page 5 of Exam. 9, "The Results of the Test Are...!?", while Kobato is running to get a beer sampler, we can see two guys walking in the street whose appearances remind very much of Kazahaya and Rikuou from Gouhou Drug. Could it really be them?

The creator of this website believes that since Kobato. restarted its publication in Newtype, Tsubaki Nekoi took over the role of drawing background characters, and that this could be the reason of why there has been a lot of possible known CLAMP characters walking in the background, knowing that most of those characters are drawn by Nekoi in the mangas they belong to.

The girl that lend her umbrella to Kobato after somebody had took hers is Hinata Asahi and the man with her is her former chemistry teacher in High School, Asou Shirou, both of them are characters of 'Suki. Dakara Suki'. Their relationship is something bigger than former teacher and student, though. They met at Piffle Princess' store because that's Hinata's favorite brand of clothes.

Unlike the case of Chobits and ANGELIC LAYER characters, they seem to be the same characters of 'Suki. Dakara Suki', meaning Kobato.'s story takes place in the same universe.

One of the girls giving away ice cream samplers in Exam. 9 is an alternative version of Primera from Magic Knights Rayearth. They are not exacly the same characters since the original Primera is a fairy who has no more than a few inches of height.

Another alternative version of Primera appeared in Tsubasa as well, she was a famous idol at the Republic of Hanshin.

The other girl giving away ice cream samplers is an alternative version of Seto Ringo from ANGELIC LAYER. She looks slightly older in Kobato. and just like Primera in Tsubasa, Ringo was also a very famous idol and player in ANGELIC LAYER. In Tsubasa, she stamped the cover of a manga magazine at the Republic of Hanshin.

She is an alternative version since, as mentioned previously in this section, ANGELIC LAYER's story takes place in a much advanced future.

The two girls giving away free beer samplers are alternative versions of Misaki Suzuhara and Tamayo Kizaki of ANGELIC LAYER. Like Seto Ringo, they look a few years older than their parallel selfs.

In ANGELIC LAYER, Misaki was a huge ANGELIC LAYER player and Tamayo was her best friend. Another alternative version of Tamayo appeared in Tsubasa as one of the narrators of the Piffle World race.

In Drop. 5, we see Fujimoto working in front of a drugstore giving away free cough drops samples. That drugstore is called Green Drugstore, and it's the main setting of another CLAMP manga, Gouhou Drug.

The people we see in the background are Kakei (the drugstore's owner and manager), Kazahaya Kudou and Rikuou Himura (Kakei's employees), all of them characters of Gouhou Drug.

In order to meet his friend, the Baumkuchen Bear, Ioryogi walked through a passageway between a wall and a street light pole. That passageway led him to another dimension, where he could find the Bear's Baumkuchen Shop.

That passageway has appeared in other CLAMP works such as Gouhou Drug, XXXHOLiC and the one-shot Sonoko-chan's One Day, published in CLAMP No Kiseki #2.

In Gouhou Drug, passing through the gap was one of the requirements that Kazahaya had to do in order to properly accomplish the job that Kakei gave to him. The passage took him back in time to the same place, only 10 years earlier.

In XXXHOLiC, Yuuko brought Watanuki to another dimension through the passageway so that they could meet the Yumekai, a creature that buys and trades dreams.

When Kobato called Fujimoto for help after finding a man lying in the ground in pain, Fujimoto called for an ambulance and they went to the Kobayashi Hospital. There, they were informed it was the man's appendix that was causing him pain.

Kobayashi (小林) is the surname of the siblings Hatoko and Kotarou, both characters from CLAMP’s manga ANGELIC LAYER.

It is also the name of a real hospital located in Hokkaido, Japan.

In Drop. 12, when Kobato starts to sing, her voice reminds Zuishou of Kohaku, an angel from Heaven who is also known to sing beautifully.

The angel Kohaku is the main character of CLAMP's manga Wish. The story of Wish is about a man who finds an angel (Kohaku) in distress and ends up saving him, now it is the angel's obligation to grant him a wish and they start living together.
